The French Peptide Society

Our missions

The French Group of Peptides and Proteins (GFPP) is a scientific society founded in 1978. It brings together approximately 200 members, who also constitute the regular participants in the biennial GFPP congresses. The society is administered by an Executive Committee composed of twelve members elected during these congresses, together with the French delegate to the European Peptide Society (EPS), who is elected every four years by the French members of the EPS.

The missions of the GFPP are:

  1. To promote the development of research in the fields of peptide and protein science.

  2. To foster the exchange of scientific information at both national and international levels in these fields. To this end, the GFPP organizes a biennial congress (lasting four to five days), thematic workshops or short meetings (one to three days), and maintains an active mailing list.

  3. To contribute to the training of young researchers, engineers, and technicians from French laboratories. The GFPP regularly awards grants to support participation in international congresses in peptide and protein science and funds inter-laboratory exchanges aimed at disseminating new techniques and training young scientists in multidisciplinary approaches.
